LOVE this question

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?

In an age where are attention is constantly drawn from one thing to the next, knowing when to unplug is sooo important. First step, if you find yourself scrolling for no reason instead of doing the task at hand, unplug. If you find yourself out with friends and paying more attention to your phone than them, unplug. If you are using social media to distract you, unplug.

Leave your phone at home and go for a walk. Turn of any device when spending time with people that are important to you. Delete unnecessary apps. Find ways to be productive without being on line. Put all devices in another room. Simply, refuse to let it control your physical actions.

Life goes by very fast. Don’t waste it being “plugged in” without a purpose. Make it a rule: if you must be on your phone/computer, be intentional and purposeful. Either be looking for something or producing. Life exists with our eyes up. Go live it.

Many jobs, one mission

What jobs have you had?

I have had a lot of jobs since I started working in high school. Labor, retail, sales, warehouse, and management with various companies. My real job has only recently been discovered. To grow every day, serve every day, and love life and people. So much time we spend focused on the thing or the result. What we should be focused on is the process and who we become. Our main job should be to become a person of values and service.

For once, a good question

What sacrifices have you made in life?

I make sacrifices every day. I sacrifice when I got to the gym and meal prep instead of watching tv and eating out. I sacrifice friendships that are no longer serving me to pursue my higher purpose. I sacrifice what is comfortable for what helps me grow.

Take an honest look at your life. Did the times you chose to skip the gym or eat something unhealthy help you grow as a person? Discipline involves sacrifice. One of the greatest things I believe you can do is to disappear and work on yourself for 6 months to a year. This is definitely a sacrifice if you do it right but can yield some incredible results

The best sacrifices I have made personally: 1) Quit drinking alcohol 2) Read books and journal over watching tv/video games 3) Meal prep and committing to an hour towards your health every day 4) Setting aside a small amount of each paycheck towards my future 5) Choosing kindness and forgiveness when wronged

Here are two of the best things I know of to start focusing on: 1) Atomic Habits teaches how tiny changes can make a huge impact https://amzn.to/3ItzIST 2) The High Performance Planner helps you live Intentionally https://amzn.to/3pZBEfB

I laugh at these prompts but still answer

Are you a leader or a follower?

Define leader and follower. A leader could be the janitor to some. A follower could be the VP. But wait, there’s more! I am a leader in that I lead myself to cultivate discipline and principles. I am also a follower because I am bound by the rules of my job if I wish to keep it and the laws of the state if I wish to not be arrested or fined.

Take a turn from that. Everyone who stands up for what is right, ethical, and moral, is, is many respects a leader. A leader cultivates their skills and acts with courage.
