Everyone starts somewhere. I started from an overweight and lost kid in 6th grade to a multi-sport athlete by my junior year of college. It all starts with goals and defining what matters to you as an individual. Do you want to compete as a body builder or just be healthier? Are you trying to resolve a specific issue or just be healthier in general? One of the very best things anyone can do when they start their journey in anything is to get incredibly clear on their goals which are quantifiable and time bound. Trust me when I say if you do this well, you will see the most incredible changes of your life.
Let’s look at what makes quality goals. First, better than nothing but needs work would be “Lose weight”. A decent goal would be “lose 20 pounds”. A high quality goal would be “lose 20 pounds by May 10th through ABC nutrition plan and ABC exercise”. See the difference?
